Elder Law

Scott’s practice focuses on tax and estate planning, trusts, business law, closely held entities, guardianships and conservatorships, elder law and charitable giving. He is consistently recognized as one of Utah’s Legal Elite and an expert in estate planning, trusts, elder law, charitable giving, and planned giving. Scott represents many non-profit entities throughout the West, and advises them on organizational issues, charitable giving, tax matters, and business planning.

Scott has been practicing for over 40 years, and is a featured presenter at numerous seminars throughout the U.S. He is also the chairman emeritus of Fund Raising Counsel, Inc., a regional fund raising and nonprofit management consulting firm.

Scott is on numerous boards of charitable organizations and is active in the intermountain community. He graduated from the University of Utah, where he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He received his law degree from Pepperdine University, and is admitted to practice in Utah, Idaho, and Texas, as well as before the US Supreme Court.
