Jim Lewis has specialized in business-related law, transactional matters and business litigation for over 40 years. He has represented both start-ups and established companies on a wide range of corporate, securities and commercial transactions, and in connection with various business disputes, including litigation involving various partnership, contract, estate and other business issues.

He currently concentrates his practice on corporate and securities law, real property, and general commercial transactions. His work includes corporate reorganizations, asset and stock acquisitions and sales, joint ventures, mergers, public and private securities offerings, licensing and other contractual arrangements, corporate compliance and governance, proxy statements, and general corporate transactions.

Jim also devotes a significant portion of his practice to assisting new enterprises in selecting and organizing the proper business entity; preparing companies for various business transactions and for implementation of growth strategies; preparation of appropriate disclosures to investors and third parties; and assisting development-stage corporations in their efforts to raise debt or equity capital and positioning companies to go public.

Over a period of several years, Jim served as an arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers Board of Arbitrators (now “FINRA”), and has been an advocate on numerous securities broker-dealer disputes.

He graduated from the University of Utah in 1976, where he earned a BS degree. He then obtained his law degree from the University of San Diego in 1979. He has been a member of the Utah State Bar and the federal bar since 1980. Mr. Lewis has been actively involved in providing pro bono services to clients over the past 30 years.
