Dorothy is one of the founding partners of Lewis Hansen. She practices general business, commercial, and real estate law. She also advises clients on business succession and estate planning matters.

Over her 35 years in the practice of law, Dorothy has acted as corporate counsel for automotive dealerships, radio and communications businesses, financial institutions, and commercial property real estate and development entities. She handled numerous business acquisitions and sales, secured transactions, financing arrangements, commercial lease transactions, and regulatory compliance issues. Dorothy also drafted special overlay zoning ordinances, and obtained variances for real estate developments.

Her practice currently focuses on business succession planning, general estate planning, and general commercial transactions. In addition to her law firm practice, she is the general corporate counsel for the Jerry Seiner Dealerships.

Dorothy is committed to public and community service. She is currently President and a member of the Board and Executive Committee of Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum. She previously served on the Boards of the Utah Arts Festival, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Catholic Community Services, and Helping Hands Association. Dorothy was a member of the Salt Lake City Board of Adjustments from Zoning for nine years.

Dorothy is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in the State of Utah. She is a member of the Business and Estate Planning Sections of the Utah State Bar. She has a Martindale-Hubble AV rating and is among the first 100 women lawyers in the State of Utah. Dorothy graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor degree.
